Hi, I’m Rachel

I believe in the transformative experience of true connection; connection to ourselves, connection to others, and connection to the parts of ourself that feel lost, overwhelmed, or alone.

I work with women navigating the social and emotional impacts of addiction and childhood trauma. Addiction can feel exhausting, confusing, and at times hopeless. You deserve someone to walk beside you, hear your truth, and understand how life got to where it is without demanding your next steps.

Forget the therapy lingo and the secret clipboard of notes; you can expect me in a comfy chair with a cup of coffee brewing. In the power of a laidback and non-judgmental space where you can explore the parts of yourself that you try to hide, look honestly at yourself, and rediscover your pride… there you can move more fully into freedom.

Whether your goals are to reconnect with yourself, strengthen relationships, reduce the risk of harm, or move toward healing, at Recovering Connections LLC, my hope is that you feel seen, heard, and supported every step of the way.

Training and Education

I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Houghton University in New York and my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Kentucky University in Kentucky.

My Approach

I approach therapy through a strong therapeutic connection; my approach is person-centered first and foremost. I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and your choices accepted without judgment. I value authenticity, curiosity, and even moments of humor and playfulness in the therapy process, because healing (while serious business) doesn’t always have to feel heavy or cold.

I weave interventions from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Brain Spotting together to support clients in building a deeper understanding of themselves and integrating practical tools for meaningful change.

In the near future, I will be working towards EMDR and Sandtray certifications.
