Everyone's motivation for entering therapy is different. Maybe your partner talked to into it, maybe your PO officer is requiring it, maybe you hit rock bottom and don't know what else to do. Our sessions will be personalized to you and your goals. Whether your goal is to rebuild trust, to plan for an upcoming life change, to stop a specific behavior/substance entirely, or to reduce the impact of addiction on your life-- you set the pace and you set the goals.
Convenient
In your busy life , therapy can feel like just another trip down the road or just another appointment. Telehealth brings your support directly to you in the palm of your hand. Think of your session as your weekly facetime with a friend. A resource. A connection. A moment to refuel.
Relaxed
Come as you are. I ask you to show up transparently and to be honest about your struggles. Not every day comes with strength and enthusiasm. Some sessions you may feel too tired to grow, too frustrated to find compassion, and too scattered to even have planned for our conversation. PJs are ok. No makeup is ok. Wet hair is ok.
This is all the real you.
Individual Therapy sessions
Individual therapy is a private one-on-one meeting designed to help you better understand yourself. While therapy is done with a trained professional using proven tools, it can feel no different than meeting with a trusted friend for a walk in city park when you’ve had a hard day. That is therapy too. Therapy provides a supportive space where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, relationships, experiences, and patterns without fear of judgment.
Many people begin therapy during periods of sudden crises/trauma, recent relapse, or major life transitions. Others seek therapy simply because they feel disconnected from themself, stuck in repeating patterns, or ready for deeper personal growth. You do not need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Individual therapy can be a space for healing, self-discovery, emotional support, and connection.
The therapeutic process looks different for everyone, because each person’s needs and goals are unique to them. In our work together, we might explore the past, discuss current emotions and relationships, identify patterns that are no longer serving you, build coping skills, or develop deeper self-understanding and self-compassion.
Group Therapy Sessions

Group sessions will be offered at no cost to you as a voluntary and complimentary experience for those enrolled in individual therapy through Recovering Connections LLC.
Group therapy offers a therapeutic space where individuals can connect with others who share similar struggles and experiences. Unlike your local 12 step or SMART recovery meeting, at Recovering Connections LLC, your goals, substances, and behaviors may be different from the person across from you.
This unique group therapy space creates an opportunity for healing through a deep shared understanding of the wounds beneath addiction. It provides a parent the opportunity to hear and build empathy for a young person struggling while their own child is estranged. It allows one member struggling with compulsive eating to hear words of support from an older parental figure while she still hides her struggles from her own family.
Here you have the opportunity to experience connection in real time with others who understand.
